After the body was lowered onto the rebuilt chassis, we discovered that the original body orientation had been cockeyed for the past 50 years. We checked the chassis for level, & with the body sitting in the original position, we used a ratchet strap to pull the curbside into the correct position. In order to square up the body relative to the chassis, several ribs had to be shortened slightly & the bottom of the curbside panels needed to be trimmed. The rear end had similar issues. The body is now sitting level & square on both ends relative to the chassis.

This is the material that needed to be trimmed off the bottom of the curbside panel in order for the body to sit square on the chassis & be able to rivet it through the “C” channel in the base of the wall..
Re-drilling bottom of curbside panels

Front panel is now sitting on the “A” frame, equally on both sides.
