Well, it was sweet while it lasted! Talked to Colin today and they had
a heck of a time getting the shell on, and it's not there yet. Turns
out that Moonraker originally had been put on cockeyed (last trailer in
the line on a Friday afternoon?)
In order for her to be straight and true they had to trim the bottom
edge of the shell on the curbside up to 3/4 of an inch! Which of
course means redrilling for all the rivets on the c channel. I think
they even had to cut the wheel well cutout .... Of course this is the
side that was NOT being replaced. The other side is getting the big
long panel replaced due to a wheel blowout. Figures huh?
I remember seeing some ribs that were jury rigged when we stripped the interior, guess I know what that was about now!. Of course this means that the bulkheads and interior skins are going to be shorter too. Ah well.
